Port of Blyth
The Port of Blyth archive is held at the Port of Blyth, Northumberland, with some additional records held by Northumberland Archives, Woodhorn, QEII Country Park, Ashington, Northumberland, NE63 9YF – (tel: 01670 624455). The collection is an extensive one and as well as archival material contains a number of artefacts. A group of dedicated volunteers are undertaking a programme of cataloguing and part digitisation of the collection and are adding new content to the online catalogue each week. The volunteers have developed a classification scheme to facilitate structured cataloguing of the collection. The scheme reflects the different formats found within the collection – archives (ARCH); artefacts (ART); collections – items relating to the Port of Blyth that have been donated to our project and are not part of the formal archive (COL); flat plans (FP); loose photographs (PLO); oral histories (OH); photograph albums (PALB) and rolled plans (RP). We hope that you enjoy looking at our catalogue.
We’d like everyone to enjoy browsing the content of the catalogue. The content is the property of The Port of Blyth and if you’d like to use anything you find on this page in social media or commercially, for example, to illustrate an exhibition, publication or website you should contact us on info@blythtallship.co.uk. Royalties charges may apply.
