Letter from J.E. Hodgkin, Hon. Sec. Of North Eastern Automobile Association regarding charge for motor cars be reduced to 6d for the bridge charges. Letter in reply from C.E. Baldwin. Unable to give a guarantee as to bridge toll. Also pointing out that the bridge is not to be a highway but to give access between the North and South sides of the river. B.H.C under no obligation to provide a crossing but are doing so by means of a cart ferry at present solely in the interest of trade.
