Oral History Recordings.
This element of the catalogue of the Port of Blyth collection relates to ‘Oral Histories’ – recordings of conversations with men and women who had some association with the work of the Port. Between 2013-2014 one of our volunteers made thirteen oral history recordings. The catalogue entry includes a summary of each conversation where available and a short excerpt from the recording has been added to the catalogue along with a photograph of the interviewee.
The icons on this page provide a title for each recording. Click on the title and you will find a description of the recording – sometimes with a summary of it. In each case we have appended a five minute soundbite of the recording. Click on the start button and you will be able to listen to this soundbite. If you’d like to listen to the full recording please contact us at heritagecentre@blythboathouse.co.uk.
We’d like everyone to enjoy browsing the content of the catalogue. The content is the property of The Port of Blyth and if you’d like to use anything you find on this page in social media or commercially, for example, to illustrate an exhibition, publication or website you should contact us on heritagecentre@blythboathouse.co.uk . Royalties charges may apply.
